In 2004 the Trailer Safety Industry Coalition formed to address industry-wide wheel separation issues. When a wheel assembly separates from the axel at the wheel joint, it compromises safety. The Coalition studied wheel joints to better understand the issue.
The solution to the problem came from HiSpec Wheel and Tire Incorporated with the introduction of Improved Clamp Force Technology (ICF). This is standard equipment on every EverGreen RV. ICF ensures that each wheel joint on an EverGreen RV has the proper clamp load to avoid a separation. In testing, ICF significantly increased the average clamp load and reduced stud-to-stud clamp load variations and reduced the variation in clamp load relaxation.
What this means is that the wheel joints on your EverGreen RV will remain secure and you are better prepared to handle the road in all driving conditions. It is also a “one-time” installation and does not require re-torque once installed.
